Auscultation skills for HCPs 

Refine your auscultation skills by listening to the lung sounds of patients with ILD compared with normal lung sounds and those associated with other respiratory conditions such as COPD.

Features of dry inspiratory crackles:1–3

  • Typically heard at the lung bases on the posterior chest (back)
  • Heard during middle to late inspiration
  • Short duration and does not clear with cough
  • Sounds like VELCRO® Brand Fastener being peeled apart
